At full charge, up to 7 hours. The battery is rechargeable via the USB-C connector located on the back and will take about 4 hours from flat to full charge. We’ve also included a low battery warning signal so you never start a session with the risk of running out of battery mid-workout. Note that at full brightness, the battery life will reduced slightly
The lens is made out of Polycarbonate material which is the same material used for bullet proof glass. The lens snaps into the housing. It can easily pop in and out.
Timebirds will always work best indoors. If you are planning to use Timebirds outside, try to avoid placing it under full sun and place it in a shaded area (there is a reason why traffic lights have a hood on top!).
Using your phone is absolutely fine...until you drop weights onto it, or until the screen goes to sleep mid-workout. Athletes we talked to also said they found calls and texts distracting - something coaches and PTs stressed, adding that they didn’t like personal notifications popping up in front of their clients. Timebirds allows you to leave your phone away and remain 100% focused on your training. Plus there’s the emotional connection to those LEDs that so many of us love so much!
We want to enable athletes to remain fully focused on their training, so Timebirds have been purposely designed to operate as stand-alone devices. All settings and modes are easily accessible using the soft keys located on top, so there is no need for a remote control or phone app. The only thing you need to take with you for your training is Timebirds.
Timebirds is using a Piezo (not a speaker). The advantage of a piezo is that it is smaller, louder and does not consume a lot of power. The disadvantage is that you can only play with the frequency so the sound is always "a beep".
